The EPA through development of its Code of Practice for Vessel and Facility Management, has introduced greywater management requirements for all vessels operating on South Australian inland waters. For more information, visit www.epa.sa.gov.au/vfm The new code has stimulated the development of ‘world first’ on-board greywater treatment technology in South Australia. This practical, compact and efficient solution prevents the annual discharge of up to 500 million litres of polluted greywater to the River Murray from vessels such as houseboats, and returning clean water to the river .
